Hiking in Maria Alm am Hochkönig

Clear mountain air, rustic alpine huts, lush alpine meadows – hiking in Maria Alm, from spring to autumn. Over 340 km of hiking trails, awarded the Austrian Hiking Seal of Quality, well-signposted and designed for every fitness level. Six summer cable cars take you up if you want to save your legs or simply spend more time at the top.

For those who want to be out longer: The Königsweg and the “Ach du grüne Neune” trail lead from hut to hut, one peak after another. Herbal hikes with trained herbal educators, culinary King’s Tours on foot or by bike – anyone who truly wants to get to know the region needs more than one vacation.

A special day of the year: the Bartholomew Pilgrimage. Hundreds of people hike from Maria Alm via the Riemannhaus to Lake Königssee – a centuries-old tradition that lives on today.
